Youth Council
Goulburn Youth Council was first formed under the umbrella of the Goulburn Liedertafel.
In 2000 the members decided to become a committee of the former Goulburn City Council.
The members are made up predominantly of young people in the 14-20 years age group.
Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month and are open for anyone to attend. The major focus of the Committee is to arrange entertainment for young people, and provide a forum for youth ideas to be discussed and the promotion of youth views and issues.
Events, functions and activities are organised and coordinated by young people, for young people.
The main events conducted by the Youth Council have been on an annual basis and include-
- the 'Winter Concert' held in August or September
- 'Pool Grind', a concert and skate display at the Goulburn Swimming Pool, held in January
- Youth Week celebrations, including bands, street performances and youth forums.
