Feeling Arty?

Last modified: November 9, 2009 - 10:51 PM

Believe it or not, there are some really exciting arts events and activities happening in Goulburn, especially through the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery.

The Gallery focuses on contemporary art - art that is about life today and about allowing people the freedom to say what they think with paint, photography, charcoal, junk, metal, mosaics, clay, or whatever.

The Gallery runs many programs for young people in Goulburn - including workshops, exhibitions and public art and. At the Gallery, we want to know what people want to do, then we know what to do. Some of the things we do are:

Workshops

These are held every so often after school or during the holidays and can cover almost any type of art, such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, construction (especially using recycled materials), t-shirt printing, photography, cartooning, textiles, mosaics. While these workshops teach people how to make art in any form, they are really about letting people express themselves and have fun doing it. Contact the Gallery in the Civic Centre - tel 4823 4443 to find out more and to let us know what you would like to do.

Exhibitions

The Gallery changes its exhibitions every 3-4 weeks, so there is always something new to see there. If you are at school and doing art, then the Gallery has many exhibition that can help you with that.

Just want information or help with art projects or assignments....

Then drop into the Gallery in the Civic Centre and ask on of the friendly Art Gallery staff for advice. We are only too happy to help out if we can. And do let us know what you would like us to do.
