Microchipping of Cats and Dogs

Last modified: November 9, 2009 - 10:50 PM

Cats and dogs born after 1st July 1999 must be microchipped and registered.

Microchipping ensures that all pets have a means of permanent identification which cannot be lost or tampered with.

Your local vet can assist you with information about microchipping your pet.

After the animal is microchipped, bring the form the vet has completed for your into Council's reception area, along with desexing papers if applicable, to register your animal.
