Goulburn's Regional Art Gallery is the focus of art within the City and the region.

Goulburn's Regional Art Gallery is the focus of art within the City and the region.
The Goulburn Regional Art Gallery opened in August 1982. Originally located in the old courthouse at 260 Sloane St, it moved to its current premises in the Goulburn Civic Centre in January 1990. Over the past 25 years it has curated and presented a rich diversity of exhibitions and public programs, and has toured its exhibitions throughout Australia.

Goulburn Regional Art Gallery aims to serve as a major cultural resource of visual art and craft practice, theory and education for the City and region by:
  • Presenting a program of exhibitions representing the diversity of art and craft media, practice and theory.
  • Promoting the work of artists and craftspeople of the region through its exhibition and public programs.
  • Promoting cultural tourism through the national touring of its exhibitions and through the contemporary relevance of its exhibition program.
  • Providing a public program of lectures, seminars and workshops.
  • Providing an outreach program for rural and isolated schools and communities in the region.
  • Providing an art advisory service.
  • Providing a program of workshops for children and youth.
  • Providing a workshop program for people with special needs.
  • Coordinating the public artwork program for the City.
  • Working with the communities of the City and the region to promote community identity and cultural awareness.
  • Providing an alternative venue for concerts and other performances, and for functions and meetings.
