Proposed naming of Rose Garden

A proposal has been received by Council to name the rose garden at the corner of Auburn and Lagoon Streets after the late Phyllis Rudd.

Council at its 19 May 2009 meeting resolved the following:

Resolved 09/265                          Cr O’Neill/Cr Kirk 

That the Rose Garden in Auburn Street be named the Phyllis Rudd Rose Garden subject to no objections being received through the consultation and approval process under the draft policy.

In accordance with Counci's Draft Naming of Parks & Reserves (Public Open Space) Policy, submission of any objections to the proposal will be received by Council until 5 p.m. on Tuesday 23 June 2009.  A copy of the draft policy is available for downloading below and will be on public exhibition from 27 May 2009 for 42 days.
