Water Rebates
The Goulburn Mulwaree Council currently has two (2) rebate schemes in operation. These are:- 4 star or higher washing machines*
- 3 star or higher showerheads and dual flush toilets
* Please note that this rebate is for water efficiency rated washing machines with a 4 star or higher water rating. This rebate does not apply to 4 star energy ratings.
The claim form together with the terms and conditions for the above rebates is located at the bottom of this page. Please download, complete the required information and present it to Council to receive your rebate.
NOTE: The State Government is also offering a washing machine rebate of $150 for the purchase of a 4.5 star or higher WELS rated washing machine as from 1 August 2008. Visit the DECC | Residential Rebate Program website or call 1300 361 967 for details of the state rebate.
TANK REBATES With the State Government introducing a new rainwater tank rebate on 1 July 2007, Goulburn Mulwaree Council no longer offers a separate rebate. Goulburn Mulwaree Council's rainwater tank rebate ceased as of close of business on 21 August 2007.
From $150 to $1500 is available for City and rural households under the state system, depending on the size of the tank and whether it is connected to toilets and washing machines. Visit the DECC | Residential Rebate Program website or call 1300 361 967 for details of the state rebate.
The Australian Government introduced the National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative: Household Rebate on 1 February 2009. The rebates are being administered for the Australian Government by the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.
Rebates of up to $500 are available to households for either:
- The purchase and installation of a new rainwater tank which is connected for internal reuse of the water for toilet and/or laundry use; or
- The purchase and installation of a permanent greywater treatment system.
