Banner pole in Auburn Street, |
Hire of Banner Poles
Goulburn Mulwaree Council has 22 banner poles situated in Goulburn’s CBD which enhance the city’s attractiveness by adding colour and vibrancy to the streetscape and which help to convey an image of activity and community spirit. They also help to inform residents and visitors of opportunities for leisure and recreation in Goulburn.
Interested community groups are able to hire these banner poles to promote their event. Generally, those booking the banner poles must adhere to Council’s ‘Hire of Banner Pole’ Policy, which states that:
-
Banner poles are not available for commercial advertising use.
-
The message on the banners must promote an event or activity and not primarily endorse any commercial product or company.
-
Banners may not display any potentially offensive message or image and may not be seen to be politically or religiously biased.
-
Promotion of events is acceptable, however imparting of political or religious beliefs through slogans or proclamations is not acceptable.
(Note that currently this policy is in draft form, and is provided as a guide only)
